Vancouver Community Library ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit
Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Washington, the Vancouver Community Library is an inviting place for all. Funded by a bond measure in 2006, the library celebrated its grand opening in 2011. Considered to be the flagship of Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries, the 83,000 sf Vancouver Community Library was designed and constructed with sustainability in mind. Constructed with recycled and regional materials, high efficiency fixtures, HVAC systems, and a green roof, these features and many more have earned the library a LEED Gold certification.
Coffman’s Seattle energy management team assisted Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries by performing an ASHRAE Level II Energy audit to identify no/low-cost energy efficiency measures (EEMs) and energy management strategies to reduce annual energy consumption by 37%. These EEMs, and the implementation of an Energy Management Plan and updated Operations and Maintenance Program, ensure the buildings’ compliance with the Washington Clean Building Performance Standard.
