UC College of the Law San Francisco Academic Building
Coffman served as the code consultant and fire protection engineer on the design-build team for the new six-story University of California (UC) College of the Law building in San Francisco. The design-build team submitted the $55M project design using the state fire marshal phased design guide to meet the compressed schedule. Coffman composed the Phase 1 fire protection and life safety report, provided code consulting and review of design packages and life safety drawings, and conducted meetings with the state fire marshal and San Francisco fire officials for site specific coordination. The building was designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification, and includes smart classrooms, a conference center, and indoor and outdoor community spaces.
