San Diego Zoo Africa Rocks

Located on seven acres of new exhibit development in the Dog & Cat canyon, the Africa Rocks Exhibit is comprised of several distinct biomes showcasing the various habitats for African plants and animals, including vervet monkeys, baboons, warthogs, ibex, dwarf crocodiles, lemurs, fossas, leopards, penguins and a large tensile structure aviary to accommodate a variety of African birds.

The structural scope of the exhibit includes design and detailing of all structures and site elements, including animal holding buildings, guest structures and amenities, faux rockwork/walls, animal containment, glass viewing into buildings, elevated walkways, a waterfall with a walk-through cave and support foundations and anchorage for the tensile structure.
