Puente Hills Landfill Park

The Puente Hills Landfill Park project will transform the 1,365-acre closed landfill into a premier regional destination that blends recreation, education, culture, and environmental stewardship. Developed in multiple phases, the park will feature a welcoming entry plaza, visitor and interpretive center, scenic overlooks, and an extensive network of multi-use trails designed for hiking, biking, and equestrian use. Coffman is providing mechanical and electrical engineering services for the project.

Planned amenities include bicycle skills training areas, stair climbs, picnic areas, a dog run, equestrian staging facilities, and nature-based educational spaces. The project will also create community gathering destinations such as an art plaza, performance meadow, community amphitheater, indoor and outdoor classrooms, interpretive gardens, and a native plant nursery. Supporting improvements include roadway and infrastructure upgrades, administrative offices, and operations and maintenance facilities, creating a vibrant and sustainable public park that reconnects the community with the site’s unique landscape and history.
