Mission Gorge Temporary Slope Repairs

Coffman provided civil engineering services for the temporary slope stabilization and $1M permanent slope restoration of a slope failure along Mission Gorge Road in San Diego. The eroded slope was caused by a storm drain failure, so the design had to provide a new storm drain pipe in addition to repairing the slope itself. Due to the steepness of the existing slope, a phased approach was needed in order to gain access for construction equipment to reach the eroded area at the top of the hillside.
