City of Livermore Meeting Hall and City Council Chambers

The Livermore Civic Center Meeting Hall project combines a new state-of-the-art city council chambers and community meeting spaces that can be quickly transformed into the city’s emergency operations center (EOC). The floor plan for the council chambers features a curved seating arrangement with fixed seating and a sunken meeting hall floor, creating amphitheater seating with access behind the last row of seats.

Coffman, as RGD Acoustics, Inc., designed an audio-visual system with enhanced sound quality, better visual orientation, and a more comfortable seating arrangement. The EOC is the operational hub for the city to coordinate response and recovery to various types of emergencies or disasters. Coffman also provided recommendations for the noise and vibration control of the mechanical systems, sound isolation for the private offices, and room acoustic treatments for the open plan workstation areas.
