Howard County Schools On-Call Fire Protection Services

Coffman provided fire protection engineering services for the Howard County Public School System, supporting projects at elementary, middle, and high schools to evaluate existing system infrastructure and identify feasible, cost-effective upgrades to provide reliable fire alarm systems for students and staff.

Due to the age of the systems and life cycle of fire alarm products, obsolete equipment was evaluated for replacement with new models to provide reliability and prevent false alarms. Coffman supported the upgrade of existing fire alarm systems at six schools, including Elkridge Landing, Fulton Elementary, Gorman Crossing, Hollifield Station, Murray Hill, and Oakland Mills, by surveying each site to assess the condition and configuration of the property and fire alarm systems and developing design documents to guide the improvements.
