Alvarado Park

Coffman provided structural engineering and acoustic consulting services for Alvarado Park, a 97,200 sf independent affordable senior living apartment building in San Jose. Together, with its sister project Bellarmino Place, this new construction housing development features 206 affordable and senior living residential units and 2,200 sf of ground floor retail space. Alvarado Park consists of four stories of wood-framed construction over a post-tensioned concrete podium slab and a 48-stall parking garage. The development boasts an elevated courtyard, green screen walls, private unit balconies, and a seismically independent exterior architectural feature wall.

The acoustic scope of work included environmental noise analysis, a review of partitions between living units and from community and support spaces, mechanical noise, vibration control, as well as construction administration services. Additionally, Coffman prepared a construction noise and vibration plan as required by the City of San Jose.
