Bellarmino Place

Coffman provided structural engineering and acoustic consulting services for Bellarmino Place, a 220,000 sf affordable housing project developed by the Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCHA). The development is part of SCHA’s efforts to help mitigate the impacts of the housing crisis in Silicon Valley and includes five stories of apartments over two stories of garage parking and amenities. Structural systems consist of five levels of conventional wood framing over two-way post-tensioned concrete slabs supported by reinforced concrete columns and shear walls and a 30” thick mat slab foundation.

The Acoustic scope of work included environmental noise analysis, a review of partitions between living units and from community and support spaces, mechanical noise, vibration control, and construction administration services. Additionally, Coffman prepared a construction noise and vibration plan as required by the City of San Jose.
