Seattle General Manager, Fred Barker, SE

SEATTLE, Washington, April 26, 2024 — Today, Coffman announced the promotion of Fred Barker, SE, to General Manager of the Seattle office.

Fred joined Coffman in 2010 and is a structural engineering principal. A strategic leader with a deep understanding of the business of engineering, Fred is well positioned to effectively lead the Seattle office.

Fred replaces longtime Seattle General Manager Arvind Nerurkar, SE, who recently departed Coffman. Nerurkar joined the company in 1998 and served as the Seattle office GM for the past 13 years.

As part of Coffman’s office leadership succession planning, the company has been preparing for this role transition. The Seattle Principals unanimously chose Fred as the successor and are facilitating a smooth leadership transition.

Coffman’s Seattle office has 92 employees and offers multidiscipline services, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineering, acoustics, commissioning, and energy storage services.
