Meet Fred
Fred is the managing principal for Coffman’s Seattle office and a licensed structural engineer. He graduated from Washington State University and has been part of the Seattle office since 2010. Fred is a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the business of engineering. His dedication, capabilities, and vision align seamlessly with Coffman’s values. Known for his collaborative approach, Fred works closely with clients to deliver practical, innovative solutions tailored to each client’s specific needs.
Fred is an experienced structural engineer and multidiscipline project manager with a background that spans a diverse range of projects in federal, retail, commercial, industrial, and residential involving a wide variety of building materials and structural systems. His structural engineering experience includes seismic evaluations, analysis and retrofit of existing buildings, design for new ground-up buildings, and tenant improvements. Fred is active in the Federal/DoD market sector and has served on the Board of the Seattle Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) since 2022.
Fred is a proud husband and father of two. You will often find him coaching baseball/softball, helping build Lego sets, or attending swim meets. A self-identified “lake kid,” he spends summers at the lake with his family. He enjoys outdoor activities, including skiing, hunting, and fishing.
