Four Decades of Fit-For-Purpose Oil & Gas Solutions

Coffman has worked with oil and gas producers of all sizes to find unique fit-for-purpose solutions for four decades. We were recently interviewed by Petroleum News and shared insights into our oil and gas experience and history working in Alaska’s most challenging conditions.

Q. What do you most want people to know about your company?

A. Coffman has been working in Alaska for more than 40 years. We develop design solutions for a variety of petroleum industry clients and facilities. Our extensive experience includes offshore and onshore oil and gas production, processing, storage terminals, cross country and subsea pipelines, Arctic and adverse weather conditions, remote locations, and mature facilities needing significant upgrades. Our clients know and trust Coffman and look to us for unique design solutions. Coffman’s team mixes experiences with the latest technologies and proven systems to provide creative solutions to our clients. We recognize that clear and open communication with our client, vendor, and the multiple disciplines both within and outside our firm are keys to reaching the best possible solutions for every project.

Q. Is the company changing any of its services or products?

A. Coffman has added chemical/process engineering capabilities to our long list of engineering offerings to Alaska’s oil, gas, and refining industry. Coffman’s process engineering capabilities include process engineering support for all project phases; P&ID/PFD development; heat and material balance preparation; process simulation creation and modification; equipment sizing, specification, and selection; instrumentation and valve sizing, specification, and selection; process optimization and debottlenecking; project basis of design development; process control narrative development; relief valve sizing and evaluation/audit of existing relief valves; and process pumping systems.

Coffman has also added fire protection engineering in the last few years, including a group focused on industrial facilities. Our team provides fire protection engineering for tankage, modules, and equipment for the oil and gas industry.
