Meet Tom

Tom is a civil engineering principal in the Spokane office, leading and managing the civil and survey team. Building, maintaining, and nurturing client and community relationships is a high priority and he strives to be an example for others in this area. Tom offers a broad range of design and engineering experience in various markets for site development, municipal/state infrastructure, and industrial/manufacturing projects. As a Spokane native, giving back to the community and providing quality engineering services and designs is a personal goal and passion.

Tom’s leadership is an example for others in how to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and owners in the community and region. His success is built upon recognizing the strength and talents that each member brings to our team and clients. Supporting a culture and framework that allows each team member to be collaborative, innovative, creative, and responsive to our client’s needs and requests is empowering and ultimately leads to our client’s success. This applies to all aspects of consulting including marketing, business development, design and construction management, and community engagement.

Prior to Coffman, Tom spent 18 years as an engineer for the City of Spokane and this understanding of the processes and procedures has helped his many clients navigate city permitting. This understanding has been successfully applied across numerous agencies across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and the Pacific Northwest.

Tom’s role also includes assisting with the continued growth, development, and mentoring of our civil teams across the company and assuring quality project delivery and services for our clients. This allows our client’s access to a broader and more robust team of civil professionals to support projects as necessary. This also takes advantage of and provides our client’s with Coffman’s expertise and prior experience across the company.
