Meet Steve

Steve is the managing principal for the Portland office and an experienced structural engineer. Steve is a graduate of Washington State University and began his career with Coffman in Spokane. Over a decade ago, Steve moved to Oregon, to support Coffman’s growth, and leads the Portland office located at the Sixth + Main building downtown. Steve and the Portland team are working to expand the Coffman brand, build relationships with local clients and partners, and deliver great work. As an avid windsurfer and fisherman, Steve enjoys the Oregon lifestyle and weaves regional values of innovation and sustainability into his work.

Steve is an experienced structural engineer and works with reinforced concrete and masonry, structural steel, and timber across many different project types, including industrial, healthcare, federal and military, multi-family housing, mixed use development, hospitality, pharmaceutical, energy, wine/beer production and distribution, and retail. Steve has taught civil engineering courses, steel design, at Gonzaga University for multiple semesters, and he is currently an adjunct professor at Portland State University teaching masonry design.
