Phillip Trafton

Meet Phil

Phillip Trafton is a seasoned leader in the design and construction industry and serves as a mechanical engineering principal advisor for Coffman’s Los Angeles offices. Phil was formerly with Donald F. Dickerson Associates (DFDA), where he served as the Executive Vice President. In April 2024, DFDA joined Coffman, and their legacy continues through the team and experience they bring to Coffman.

Phil oversees project management, design criteria, and contract execution. He works closely with mechanical and electrical engineering leadership and project staff during project set-up and throughout design development and construction document phases. Phil’s responsibilities include system design concept, project management and quality control of studies, calculations, design, specifications, reports, and cost estimates delivered on time and within budget.

In addition to technical oversight and project management, Phil nurtures client relationships through strategic business development and professional organization involvement.
