Mike Ernst, PE

Meet Mike

Mike serves as the General Manager of Coffman’s Atlanta office. Having been part of the office since its early years, he has played an integral role in its growth and development, helping expand Coffman’s presence and capabilities throughout the Southeast. In addition to leading the office, Mike supports employee development, operations, client partnerships, and strategic growth while fostering a collaborative culture that has defined the Atlanta team.

A seasoned fire protection engineer with more than two decades of consulting experience, Mike joined Coffman in 2018 with experience in life safety code analysis, fire sprinkler/alarm systems design, performance-based design, and fire forensics. Throughout his career, he has also developed a passion for mentoring others and providing strategic guidance to help them grow professionally.

Mike has called Atlanta home for most of his life. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and maintaining a pristine lawn inspired by Augusta National.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) accredited professional.
