Meet Karl

Karl is the Managing Principal of the Northwest Region, a Senior Vice President, Spokane Operations Manager, and a licensed structural engineer. Understanding the unique needs of his clients is central to Karl’s philosophy and can be seen in the lasting relationships he has with several of them.

Over his career, Karl has had the opportunity to work on a variety of project types, including commercial, heavy industrial, and architectural projects for both public agencies and private owners. Public projects for federal, state, and local agencies have often involved integrated project delivery, including design-build and progressive design-build projects, where he has enjoyed collaboration between the design team, owner, general contractor, and specialty subcontractors. His focus on alternative project delivery has helped develop his skills in joint team approaches, leveraging multidiscipline design team capabilities to bring value to our design-build partners and maximize project outcomes.

Karl’s emphasis on open communication, teamwork, and listening to the needs of clients, owners, and teammates is directly reflected in his leadership. He understands that each person has their own unique ideas and perspective, and that through fostering a healthy, balanced culture, we can create a space where everyone is valued and can be heard. This fosters an innovative and engaging dynamic to generate solutions that would not have been accessible to individuals operating alone.
