Meet James.

James is a electrical engineer and the managing principal in Coffman’s Raleigh office. James holds master’s degrees in both electrical engineering and business administration and has many years of experience with design, project management, construction administration, and commissioning. He is a veteran of starting new practices with a track record of success. He recently led the effort of launching the Coffman Raleigh office, and is in the process of growing the business through genuine client relationships, and developing a local engineering team to serve the local community.

James is a seasoned consulting engineer and his professional experience includes electrical service and distribution, emergency and standby power, interior and exterior lighting, fire alarm, telecommunication, low voltage systems, industrial controls and automation, airfield power and lighting, instrument landing systems, energy management, and cybersecurity. His career focus includes military facilities, water/wastewater, power and telecommunication utilities, aviation, healthcare, higher education, municipality, and transportation. He has extensive experience in the design-build delivery method and a profound understanding of the dynamics within the design-build ecosystem.

James is a proud dad to three boys and enjoys running marathons when he’s not chasing his boys around.
