Westbard Giant Phase 1

Coffman provided fire protection and life safety code consulting services for a three-story mixed-use retail and parking development. The project features a 65,000 sf grocery retail space, 29,000 sf of additional retail space, 22,000 sf of office space, and a parking garage for approximately 438 vehicles.

Coffman’s services included code analysis, code compliance drawing reviews, and responses to Montgomery County DPS comments. A unique aspect of this project was coordinating site phasing requirements with DPS officials to limit the extent of exterior window opening protection and provide adequate exit capacity for the grocer located on the third floor.
