University of Maryland Hillel Ben and Esther Rosenbloom Center for Jewish Life

Coffman provided fire protection and life safety code consulting services for the new University of Maryland Hillel Ben and Esther Rosenbloom Center for Jewish Life in College Park, Maryland. The project consisted of two stories and approximately 40,000 sf and included gathering and prayer spaces as well as a cafeteria. Code challenges included multiple vertical openings and a high occupant load.

Coffman performed code compliance reviews, led code-based discussion with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and prepared a Fire Protection Engineering Design Evaluation (FPEDE) for the project.
