Tinker AFB E-3G Mission Flight Simulator

Coffman provided qualified fire protection engineering services for a new 51,000 sf mission and flight simulator facility to serve the training requirements of the 552nd Air Control Wing at Tinker Air Force Base. The facility includes a lobby with access to the unsecured areas of the building, a storm shelter area for 250 people, and a single entry to the secured areas of the facility, which includes a double height simulator bay for housing three motion simulators. The simulator area is accessed by overhead doors to facilitate delivery and ongoing maintenance for the simulators. The building also includes classrooms, instructor offices, and specialized training areas.

Coffman’s scope of work included complete system working drawings for fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and early warning detection systems. Coffman provided complete engineering services as required by UFC 3-600-01 for the QFPE, including life safety and building code analysis and on-site construction administration services.
