Alpine Branch Library

Coffman provided structural engineering services for a one-story, 13,000 sf steel framed structure with lateral resistance provided by brace frames.

A focal point for the community, Alpine Library includes a traditional library resource room, areas for children, teens and adults, computer lab, staff offices, workrooms, and an outdoor Poet’s Patio which overlooks an adjacent park. The building structure features a unique roof comprised of multiple planes with varying slopes. The project is the County of San Diego’s first Zero Net Energy project and will serve as a prototype for future projects throughout the region.
