Our LA office is pleased to offer mechanical engineering services led by senior mechanical engineer, Joseph “Joey” Balducci, PE. Joey is working closely with Coffman’s established San Diego mechanical engineering department to support clients in LA and OC and throughout Southern California.
Our San Diego office’s mechanical engineering team is led by principal, Louis Abbott, PE. Together, Joey, Louis, and the mechanical team strengthen Coffman’s capabilities and expand our support for clients from LA through San Diego. Our mechanical engineering capabilities are diverse and you’ll see our hand in projects such as the California Highway Patrol Facility in San Bernardino, Southern California Edison (SCE) Central Administration Building Improvements, and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Southwest Fisheries Science Center at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

About Joey
Joey is a senior mechanical engineer and experienced in the HVAC industry, working with design and construction teams to achieve compliance with California building, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical codes, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards and guidelines, and LEED criteria. His diverse project experience includes healthcare, entertainment, laboratories, detention/corrections, higher education, and industrial.
About Louis
Louis is the mechanical engineering principal in the San Diego office and was the owner of a leading mechanical engineering firm that joined Coffman in 2019. Louis’ experience includes mechanical engineering services ranges from early planning, design, construction administration, commissioning, site investigations, data analysis, and report preparations. He is skilled in many industries including manufacturing, clean rooms, exhaust systems, large office spaces, military, and educational facilities.
