When it comes to seismic engineering, Coffman’s team can provide structurally sound solutions.  Coffman provided structural engineering and construction administration for the first resident hospital in Whittier to meet state earthquake standards and the complex construction of the six-floor structure garnered attention.  The specialized moment resisting frame and foundation designs will see that this community hospital serving over 800,000 residents in 11 cities will be structurally sound for many years.

The new 237,750 square foot tower will include 11 state-of –the art surgical suites and the number of beds will increase from 444 to 556.  Coffman provided the design for the 6-floor tower, five-story link building, and two-story parking garage.  The construction cost was $200 Million.
