Washington State University’s Tri-Cities campus was missing the culture and experiences that might be found on the University’s main campus. The University decided to fund a building where students could study and engage with other students, or take some time to relax in a fun environment. Coffman’s design provides space for student government activities, student breakout, recreation events, and of course, the perfect spot to grab a cup of coffee before class.
Coffman provided structural and electrical engineering for the design of the single story stand-alone, 8,600 sf student union building on the WSU Tri-Cities campus. The design includes lighting, normal and standby power, and telecom infrastructure. The building is a high-performance LEED certified building.
