The Liberty School District sits in the small rural community of Spangle, Washington, about 20 miles south of Spokane. They have an elementary/junior high school and a high school that have been around since 1960. In 2018, voters passed a levy to renovate both buildings with upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems, fire protection, and security. Coffman Engineers was happy to help with all of these engineering aspects and improve the space so the existing buildings will see many more years of use.

Coffman provided civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineering services for Liberty Schools in Spangle, WA. The project included renovations to the existing Liberty Elementary School and addition and modernization of the existing Liberty High School. Additions include new classrooms and a gymnasium. The mechanical system was selected after performing an Energy Life Cycle Cost Assessment (ELCCA). Mechanical and electrical systems were also upgraded at the existing vocational shop. Security upgrades and land survey services were also included.
