Port of San Diego General Services Facility

Coffman Engineers provided structural engineering services for the General Services Facility, which is comprised of a two-story, 14,900 sf steel office building with a single story, 30,400 sft tilt-up concrete general maintenance and support facility. The site also features dedicated areas for storage and maintenance equipment, vehicle parking, on-site fueling, and a vehicle wash station.

The project was awarded the 2003 Project of the Year Award for Structures from the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the Tilt-Up Concrete Award from the San Diego Chapter of the American Concrete Institute.

The Port of San Diego’s General Services Department relocated to this building after being headquartered on East Harbor Drive. General Services employees, including gardeners, electricians, equipment operators, plumbers, painters, mechanics and custodians, maintain the Port’s 16 parks and perform a wide variety of duties at various Port facilities, such as the airport, the marine terminals, and the San Diego Harbor Police headquarters.
