Marysville School District – Getchell High School
This $58M, 200,000 sf high school included four small learning communities (SLCs) and one central community commons for 1,600 students. As electrical engineers for the project, Coffman designed electrical distribution and lighting for each SLC, which included administration, library, resource areas, classrooms, labs, broadcast/vocal studio or black box theater (depending on educational program direction for SLC). The Central Community Commons is comprised of fitness, kitchen, cafe and support spaces. The site consists of multiple levels of lighting concepts (parking, pedestrian, and egress).
Coffman designed custom lit handrails that allow Marysville School District to meet safety requirements for the students while minimizing light trespass to the environment.
