Lake Washington School District – Ben Franklin Elementary

Coffman provided electrical and lighting design for new 56,000 sf two-story elementary school comprised of three wings with courtyards. This building won the American Association of School Administrators Walter Taylor Award 2007, the AIA Northwest and Pacific Region Design Merit Award 2007, the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education Educational Facility Design Award of Excellence 2007, the CEFPI Washington State Chapter Polished Apple Award 2006, the AIA Cote Top Ten Green Project Award 2006 for sustainable design features, the AIA Washington Council Civic Design Merit Award 2006, and the AIA Seattle Honor Award for Washington Architecture 2006.
