FTR167 Education Community Complex

Not all educational facilities are built the same. Fort Richardson needed a complex that could withstand potential terrorist threats. Coffman Engineers designed the building according to Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection standards incorporating clear zones, standoff distances, controlled access, and window glazing. The Army now has a well fortified adult learning center where students can focus on education without concern for safety.

Civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering, and fire protection for a new multi-use, two-story, 50,200 sf facility. Included in the new building are adult/distance learning classrooms, lecture halls, computer testing labs, a library, and administrative offices. Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection (AT/FP) was provided in accordance with UFC 4-010-01 and local Command practices.
