Confidential Biogas Plant

Coffman supported a large confidential agricultural client with the installation of an anaerobic digester system that converts farm waste into renewable natural gas for distribution through the local gas utility. Each year, the biogas plant transforms approximately 120,000 tons of cow manure into 90,000 million British thermal units (BTU) of renewable natural gas (MMBTU/year). The plan also converts cow manure into high-quality organic fertilizer, reducing reliance on chemical alternatives.

The project included the installation of multiple methane-digestion tanks exceeding 100 feet in diameter, along with advanced processing equipment, mixers, pumps, gas-conditioning systems, and compressors. By capturing and repurposing waste products, the biogas plant enhances energy efficiency, improves operational safety, and reduces long-term maintenance costs while supporting sustainable agricultural practices.
