Columbia Basin Health Association Pasco Clinic
The Columbia Basin Health Association’s (CBHA) mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities guided the development of a new, comprehensive care clinic in Pasco, Washington. The clinic includes medical, dental, mental health, eye care, pharmacy services, health and nutritional coaching, and maternity education services. The facility has exam rooms, treatment spaces, administrative offices, and community health areas.
Coffman provided civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services for the new 30,000 sf medical facility serving the Tri-Cities region. The structural system for the 35-foot tall, one-story gallery space showcases a blend of exposed glulam columns and beams and cross-laminated timber (CLT) decking. Both the decking and beams have significant cantilevers. Precast concrete walls provide essential lateral support, while the connection details—intentionally left visible—were well coordinated with the architect to highlight the overall design aesthetic. Coffman also optimized building systems for energy efficiency and ease of maintenance, while complying with healthcare codes and standards
