Clients and friends,

You have undoubtedly seen the news and details from President Biden’s new COVID-19 Action Plan. From his description and what has been released, the plan is intended to greatly broaden mandates to a large portion of the population through various mechanisms. As part of that plan, the president has signed an executive order regarding vaccine mandates for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors. Another part of the plan includes taking steps to require all employers with more than 100 employees to ensure their workers are vaccinated or tested weekly.

I want to assure you that Coffman is watching these developments closely. As of today, we are maintaining the COVID-19 guidelines we currently have in place. There are multiple interpretations of certain elements of the President’s new plan, and Federal Government representatives are still working to define elements of these new requirements. It is too early to fully understand how these requirements will impact us, and it is likely that some of the mandates and executive order components will face challenges by states and end up in the courts. We will be watching this process closely to gain clarity on the ultimate impact on Coffman.

From the beginning of this pandemic, it has been Coffman’s position that vaccination is a personal choice. Our decision-making has focused on striking the best possible balance between that freedom to choose, protecting our teammates, and complying with the law. We remain firmly committed to all three and would appreciate your patience as we navigate this new development.

Stay calm. Stay healthy. We’ve still got this.
