We are pleased to welcome Fire Protection engineer Tom Waldron to Coffman’s Bay Area office.
Tom is responsible for the development of engineered fire alarm system contract drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction management. As a 3rd party special inspector, he verifies and witnesses the testing of fire alarm and smoke control system for compliance with National, State, and Municipal codes. His experience also includes fire protection and life/safety system surveys at client sites.
Tom’s experience in the fire protection industry spans 28 years. His career began as a field service technician performing installation, testing, and servicing of fire alarm systems. Over the span, he has worked for prominent fire alarm manufacturers and suppliers of fire alarm/life safety systems. In 2003, Tom began his consulting career in fire protection and has since been consulting for many prominent clients throughout California.
Tom is NICET certified and holds a Level IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems. In 2011, he obtained his Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) certificate through NFPA.
Tom is also involved with the regulatory agencies in the industry to establish equivalent facilitation and compliance with codes and standards that affect the fire alarm industry. His experience in code applications include commercial, industrial, research, education, mercantile, institutional, and storage occupancies. Tom also has extensive experience with fire protection in the healthcare industry.
