Meet Joe

Optimism and client oriented service are highlights of Joe’s leadership as an electrical engineering principal in our San Diego office. Joe is an accomplished electrical engineer having supported hundreds of projects as the designer of record and is routinely sought after as a trusted advisor and consultant for clients. Joe is experienced in Federal Department of Defense (DOD), military, higher education, healthcare, hospitality, recreation, civic, and advanced technology projects.

Joe joined Coffman in 2016 to start the San Diego electrical department. Through his enthusiasm for Coffman’s multidiscipline model and business development efforts, Joe successfully gained traction in the San Diego market and has quickly grown the electrical department and clientele. Joe is committed to the success of his team and the company with a passion to pursue new markets like Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) which has resulted in many projects within a few years.

Over his career, Joe has completed more than $250M in military and DOD projects even serving as the lead electrical engineer for a $150M project at MCB Camp Pendleton which included more than 16 buildings, bridges, roads, and utility improvements.

Joe actively pursues business development opportunities through industry organizational involvement and has a passion for mentoring others. He grew up in Southern California and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he earned an electrical engineering degree. He is a licensed electrical engineer and received DBIA certification in 2015.
