Corrosion Control
Coffman Engineers' corrosion control engineering group includes professionals of national distinction who are certified, active members of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers International (NACE). We are frequently consulted by industrial and commercial organizations for support in the following areas cathodic protection, coatings and specialty lining solutions, process equipment and material selection, water treatment problems, and serve as technical contacts on regulatory compliance issues for oil and gas, utility, transportation, marine, domestic water, government, and military organizations. Services include: - Design of corrosion control systems for new or existing structures, including cathodic protection, coatings, water treatment, equipment selection/design and material selection.
- Installation supervision and construction management services for coating inspection and cathodic protection installation, equipment/process commissioning, and system adjustments/optimization.
- Monitoring surveys for rectifiers, test stations, and close interval surveys (CIS) of new and existing cathodic protection systems to demonstrate regulatory compliance and system performance. We also perform sampling and analytical review of fluid sampling programs to control internal corrosion.
- Maintenance of cathodic protection systems to evaluate and confirm optimum system performance.
- Training, including instruction and procedures development, utilizing NACE-certified specialists.
- Failure analysis to determine and document specific material failure mechanisms.
