Coffman designed Ridgeview Elementary with the student and the environment in mind. This 49,000sf, school has nineteen classrooms equipped with daylight harvesting controls and occupancy-based light switches, which aid in the reduction of site lighting levels. All of these elements were designed to align with Washington State's High Performance School Design Standards and the Spokane School District's sustainability mission.
This project was awarded the "Best on the Block," Robert Fraser Excellence in Masonry Design Awards in 2007, and the Mayor's Urban Design Award, City of Spokane in 2008, and a Design Award from the AIA Spokane Chapter in 2008.
