"Design of a Seismic Isolation System with Supplemental Viscous Damping for a Near-Fault Essential Services Facility" by Saif Hussain and Mohamed Al Satari (LA Office). One of two papers presented in September 2007 at the 76th SEAOC Annual Convention in Squaw Creek, California. The LA office published four technical papers in international and statewide conferences during 2007. These papers demonstrated the state-of-the-art use of new technologies in the structural engineering, namely; Base Isolators and Viscous Fluid Dampers.
